Our past projects

Gym Club

Gym Club was a monthly, community-focused gym session that ran for three years from 2022 - 2025.

It was designed for people at all stages—whether you were new to the gym or already had a regular routine. The sessions created a space to enjoy movement together, learn new things, and share what works, without pressure or expectation.

Building strength, improving fitness, or simply moving your body can all be powerful forms of gender and self-affirmation. But gyms don’t always feel accessible or welcoming for trans people. Gym Club aimed to shift that - offering a space where people could get started, build confidence, and connect with others who enjoy working out.

Gym Club was started by Han and supported by Todd, with sessions hosted at TGen Gym. A big thank you to Sam Dengate, who facilitated the sessions as a trainer and supported the project through his gym.

Euphoria:
Trans Joy Art Exhibition (2022)

Euphoria was a series of events celebrating Trans Day of Visibility in 2022, centred around joy, creativity, and community.

The exhibition ran from 1–30 November 2022 at Hares and Hyenas in Fitzroy, a long-standing queer community hub. It featured a collection of works from 21 trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming artists, spanning a wide range of backgrounds and experience levels.

The program included both a main opening night and a low-sensory opening night, making space for different ways of participating.

The Packing Room Prize was awarded to Ivan Jeldres for their work Home, a piece that captured the theme of trans joy with clarity and care. The award included a $200 prize, with thanks to Pony Club Gym.

The People’s Choice Award was awarded to Luke Taylor, who received a $200 cash prize with thanks to Cafe Gummo Bar.

Euphoria was about making trans joy visible and tangible—creating space not just for expression, but for being seen and supported in community.

Book Club

Book Club ran as part of The Shed during 2022 - 2023, creating a space to read, reflect, and share ideas in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

It has since grown into an independently run group and continues to meet monthly, both in person and online.

We’re grateful to Alex and Toby for getting Book Club up and running, and to everyone who continues to carry it forward.
