Representations of Us: Painting workshop

About this event

You will work with other gender diverse folk to make a painting on canvas that explores or expresses something about your gender identity.

All materials provided.

What to expect:

• Acknowledgement of country
• Wind up: intros, sharing personal stories of gender identity
• Artmaking: painting, giving words to your experience, representations of yourself
• Wind down: grounding session, check ins
• Snacks and gentle chatting

What you'll make: a painted piece, a written piece which will be shown in our Making Our Mark in Merri-bek exhibition, Oct 16-Nov 20, 2022 at Newlands Neighbourhood House.

• 10 capacity (BIPOC & folks with disabilities prioritised)
• snacks and drinks provided

The workshop will touch on sensitive topics around identity.
